Competition
Adult Competition
The theme for this year's competition is "Within Your Footsteps: within 1000 Footsteps Of Your Door". We are hoping you will be inspired to look closely at your local area, and draw from this to create a piece of work to share at the regional day.
The competition is open to all members of the West Midlands Region. If you are unable to attend, then please arrange for the entry to be brought by a member of your branch. It is free to enter, and entries need to be brought on the day, along with a completed Competition Entry Form.
The maximum size (including frame) for 2D entries is A3 size (29.7cm × 42cm, or 11.7in × 16.5in); if your entry is a triptych or diptych (or composed of multiple parts), the whole piece must fit within this A3 size, including frame. There are no restrictions on the size of 3D entries.
2D entries will be attached to display boards using industrial stick on Velcro, with more delicate work attached using pins - these pins may be visible when the work is displayed. Please try to make sure your work is suitable for being displayed in this way - if you have any queries, please contact us using the form on this page.
The competition entries will be judged and winners awarded in the following categories:
- Best Use of Hand Embroidery
- Best Use of Machine Embroidery
- Best Interpretation of Theme
- Visitors' Choice (decided by a vote from attendees)
